Meghan Markle issued warning over memoir – but it could win her back favour

Meghan Markle has been warned that she faces a major “struggle” if she follows the path taken by Prince Harry and writes her own tell-all memoir.

Rumours have been swirling that Meghan is on the verge of writing her own book, which could detail her side of several of the incidents that have been talked about since she joined the Royal Family. Although it has not been confirmed by Meghan's team, which the Daily Star has reached out to, royal expert Christine Ross issued a warning to her.

She said told the Daily Express: “I think she will struggle to balance what is best for her and her image, and what the publishers want to sell. If she stuck to 'just Meghan,' rather than cashing in further on her Duchess of Sussex title, she might win some favour back from the public as well.”

She did go on to clarify that the book could be a “huge commercial success”, mainly because people would be “dying of curiosity” to read it. It does appear, however, that Meghan is trying to forge her own path, rather than relying on being one half of the most talked-about couple on the planet.

The Duchess of Sussex is believed to be preparing for a relaunch which would see her make seven figures per post in a lucrative new deal. She and Prince Harry had quit their social media accounts back in 2020, with their @sussexroyal account deactivated when it had 9.4million followers, but a return to Instagram could be in order.

An announcement should be "very soon" according to an insider, who tipped the account as having the handle "@meghan." A source told MailOnline last month: "Everyone in Hollywood is talking about the re-launch being imminent. Meghan has never made any secret of the fact she wants to return to Instagram."

The rumours did not surprise expert Eric Schiffer, who believes it is the "next logical step" for the Duchess. Schiffer said: "I would expect her to quickly become one of the most followed accounts on Instagram. You have celebrities like the Kardashians who can command $1million (£790,000) and up for a single post promoting a product.

"There is no reason Meghan couldn't be earning those sorts of fees."
