Brazil plane crash leaves 14 dead including huge group of American tourists

A plane carrying 14 people crashed while flying over Brazil, killing everyone on board in a horrific tragedy. 

Grim footage of the aftermath shows the damaged plane strewn across the ground near the Amazon River in the municipality of Barcelos.

Several American tourists are among the dead after the air taxi-style plane plunged into the ground. 

There were 12 passengers and two crew members, including the pilot and co-pilot 

Colonel Máximo, Secretary of Civil Defense of Amazonas, confirmed the accident. 

A clip of the scene posted to X by @choquei was captioned: “The plane that crashed in Barcelos, Amazonas, had 14 people. Everyone died, including the pilot and co-pilot. The air taxi-style plane was transporting American tourists.”

Footage appears to show responders on the scene with a parked police vehicle present.

Wilson Lima, a spokesperson for the governor of Amazonas, said the plane took off from Manaus bound for Marcelos, 400 kilometres away.
